The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is Hiring a Program Assistant Near Pasadena, TX

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Project Assistant to join our team. The Program Assistance for Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) will directly report to the Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) and collaborate closely to deliver quality care to residents, conduct initial and ongoing training for staff and to ensure compliance according to the Texas Administrative Code.

What you will do:

  • Conduct staff training sessions on various topics related to care, safety, and resident support.
  • Participate actively during surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory
  • Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to regulations.
  • Coordinate and./or provide transportation for residents to attend doctor appointments and other external activities as needed.
  • Monitor and observe facility operations monthly to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Supervise staff members, providing guidance, support, and feedback to enhance performance.
  • Document staff performance, including observations, evaluations, and feedback for professional development.
  • Ensure effective documentation of all activities, processes, and outcomes related to resident care and facility operations.
  • Enter data accurately and in a timely manner into the EPIC system for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in creating Individual Program Plans (IPPs) by contributing to the development of goals and objectives tailored to each resident's needs and aspirations.
  • Report all suspected abuse and/or neglect timely

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree, required.
  • College degree from accredited 2 or 4 year program preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 years direct care experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficient
  • Must have experience planning and communicating among various different groups and teams within organizations
